"If it says max 30 minutes a day, it might be made for very light use... Check the weight and build of the treadmill and the HP rating."

"Check your user manual, troubleshooting. If you're lucky, the belt is just loose and you can tighten up the back roller. A treadmill should last much longer than six months!"

Confidence Power Plus Treadmill: RIP?

I've been using my Confidence Power Plus since around January, mostly without a hitch, but I think it might be done for. Yesterday when I was using it, the tread started sticking more and more, and started slowing down, until it just stopped. ...and now it won't start again. The console still turns on and supposedly starts, but the tread doesn't move anymore.I think I already know the answer to this, but just to confirm--the motor's probably burned out, right? I didn't experience too much of a…See More

Confidence Power Plus—Smell?

Heya Everyone,

I'm new to the forum (first post), and just started last week on a Confidence Power Plus treadmill. I've searched the forums for this question, but wanted to double-check since some of the answers left me wondering.

I'm a little concerned about the motor's performance.

1) The difference in speed from how fast the band moves before/after I step on it is about a 50% drop. I've never used a treadmill before, is that normal? (I weigh about 175lbs).

2)…

Will a used treadmill work?

Hello all. I just joined because I as so sick of sitting!

Did any of you convert an old used treadmill for your desk? I've found a bunch of cheap treadmills on Craig's List but I am concerned that they may not run slow enough to be used as a desk. Most increase speed at only .5 mile per hour increments. Since I've never worked on one, would this work as a desk? What speed/s do you typically work at? thanks for tips and suggestions. with a little guidance I will be one of you all soon!…

Inexpensive, nice looking DIY rig

I've posted two albums that I hope give a good idea of how I built an attractive and comfortable walking desk for about $800.00.

The prototype, and the (mostly) finished product.

I would love it if these posts help somebody else!
