Hello All: I'm a new member. I designed a custom table that hooks over my treadmill controls. I used cardboard to make the forms and had Tap Plastics cut and assemble. The cost was $60. The ergonom...

Hi, I am new too and I am willing to share my results. I weighted in two and a half weeks ago and weighted in myself today and I have lost 15 lbs. I am really starting to feel great about myself and my wife seemed pleased with it. So far so good.

When I first got started, regardless of occasional speed changes, it boiled down to about a pound a week. That was an average, though. I weighed myself after 6 weeks and had lost 6 lbs at that point. I have not lost any weight since then, but I'm ...

I started out at 1.7mph with a goal of doing 4 miles a day. I've hit that each day now. But I'm very active. I was "tired" but not overly tired.

How can this be? Weight loss is a calories in calories out game. If you add activity, keep calorie intake steady...you should lose weight, right?

I started out at 1.7MPH. I think I could easily go to 2.0, but I think I might break a sweat at that speed after a while. I actually think faster speeds might be easier on the hips.

About Me:
Work from home when I'm not travelling. Spend the whole day on the laptop or on con calls. I do work out regularly, but my sedentary job just doesn't help. Okay...the eating is not under control, either. Hoping that the walk to work will help.

Hi again Andrea,

Well, am walking on my new (used and ~10 years old) True 700 that I bought this weekend from a local fellow who was also using it to walk and work, too. He had a unique set up with wooden struts between teh curved handles tht he gave me for the treadmill and I rigged up a funky shelf-triangle braced with plexi-foam tahts' workig okay right now. Got it all set in about 3 hours all told... and I said funky! Now, as long as my littel curious cat doesn't decide she neds to get up here, I'm fine!

So, I'd be interested in talking to you abut your plexi system. This system I put up tonight is temporary I know already, and needs to not only accommodate my keyboard, but my Wacom tablet and stylus as well. This shelf is 30" long, 12"wide and rests on the fairly flimsy braces I made out of 6 pieces of that clear plexi corrugated stuff they use for signs, etc. (Tried it as a support for my artwork, but the ridges showed through!)

I wonder if your True console is the me deign as mine is? I can send a photo if you want..

Hi Andrea,
I actually am looking for a treadmill now that I found about this idea! It sounds perfect for me.. (May have found one, actually, though we'll see if it's gone yet.) I'm hoping to find one that's 20" wide by 60" long to allow for enough room to move on, and I have a monster desk in my office now, so will either need to get rid of that, or find some other option. I'd be interested in seeing what you've found to work for you. I'll actually be in Wilsonville on Saturday for a meeting, but am coming up with other folks who won't want to wait around I suspect. But, certainly, the configuration of the treadmill might make a difference in the type of desk one can use! I compute on a 24" iMac, too, that's an all-in-one machine, but there is a laptop around, just not what I need for daily work since I need monitor real estate for graphics apps. I certainly be game to see what you've invented as it might suit me well, especially if it is fairly easily moved on or off the treadmill. My spouse might want to use it for its treadmill purposes, too, from time to time! Send me a note and perhaps we can meet near Wilsonville?
