Treadmills jerky at slow speeds?

My treadmill is a bit jerky at slow speeds, which makes walking feel a bit strange. At 8 km/h (5 MPH), I don't notice it at all anymore; but that isn't walking speed! I've tried lubricating, and…Continue

"Glad you're feeling better. I don't do more than a couple hours on the treadmill desk at a time. Maybe that will become longer periods over time. Stretching is something I do aftward, too. Seems to be a good idea."

Treadmills jerky at slow speeds?

My treadmill is a bit jerky at slow speeds, which makes walking feel a bit strange. At 8 km/h (5 MPH), I don't notice it at all anymore; but that isn't walking speed! I've tried lubricating, and adjusting the belt tension to try and eliminate/reduce the problem; but it hasn't helped.I was wondering if this is particular to the particular model of treadmill I'm using, or if others have noticed the same thing? The main reason I'm really trying to get rid of the jerkiness is because I'm afraid it…See More

Back pain

I'm walking 6-12 km/day, and it is great. Interestingly I think the increased blood circulation helps reduce the minor pain I sometimes feel in my hands after too much typing. But I've also noticed that my lower back hurts after a long treadmill session. I don't think I have the same pain when I walk the same distance outside. My guess is that I'm so concentrated on what I'm doing that my core muscles relax more on the treadmill than when I'm walking outside. Has anybody else had a similar…See More
