Hi Brad; thanks for your message. The treadmill I use, a ProForm Crosswalk LS, works very well as a treadmill desk but is definitely low end as a treadmill, if that makes sense. One of the issues is that it is pretty loud, and my office has a hardwood floor. So at Home Depot I bought a thick rubber mat that is actually called an "Anti-Fatigue Mat," which you sometimes see in restaurant kitchens. It wasn't super cheap, I think $20 for three feet by three feet, but it's so thick that the noise from the treadmill is reduced by 70% or more, I highly recommend it if your treadmill is noisy.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I am in the process of setting up my treadmill, and will keep you posted. =]

Hello Brad,
I've been aware of the treadmill trend for a few months now, but not by reading anything about in France! But I haven't got it set up yet, need to reorganise my desk space first, get my monitors up higher, install shelf to treadmill, etc.
So far everyone I've talked to about it here has been pretty shocked, swiftly followed by highly amused. I'll keep you posted.

I'm pretty sure it is. I'm a fan of long walks (or longer bike rides) anyway and I seem to think well when moving. Nothing's going to happen for close to a month, I'm sure, because it's going to be that long before the office is ready to go.

Hi Brad,

I'm on my walkstation as I write this. Yesterday I walked almost 5 miles and I only used the unit for about 4 hours. .

I think the walkstation is an expense, that if you can swing it, will pay off in spades over a few years. I didn't have the time to put one together because I'm too busy with my business and life in general.

As for liability issues, I don't really see any if you have worker comp and general liability insurance, if you own a business like I do.

If you find that you're eating more since you started with your treadmill desk, then you should take a look at what you're eating and how often. I find that 5-6 small meals throughout the day will keep me from binging. Also I measure everything and try to keep my caloric intake around 2400 cals.

Yeah. Right now I've got way more work than I have time, so I end up rolling out of bed, dressing, sitting down to a computer, and not getting up again except for meals, etc., until I go to bed. The last three days since building this thing, I've spent around 4 hours a day on the treadmill, which has really, positively affected my health already. The wife spends more time on it than I do, and my father is thinking about building one as well. I really think this idea has legs, if you'll pardon the pun...

Thanks for the welcome.

Oh yeah! I'd almost forgotten about my forums. I do like the vBulletin format but I never managed to get the word out so they have languished in purgaroty.... I started them back up if you want to have an look at the shell.
