"I contacted LifeSpan about this when I bought my TR1200 and that value is the average over all days, not all days used. So using it 8 hours/day x 5 days/week = 40 hours and the max is 6 hours/day x 7 days/week = 43 hours, I'm fine. My…"

New office space!

Well, I finally did it. I traded in the TreadDesk Tread on a LifeSpan TR1200. The only way I could do it, though, was to move my office since the LifeSpan is much longer than the Tread and my previous office was a pass through to the stairs for the third floor. The new office is actually on the third floor in the turret cupola (we live in a Victorian.) The new space is actually marginally smaller but it's much more useable and the new treadmill is MUCH, MUCH, MUCH quieter than the Tread.…See More

catfiend replied to Jennifer Smith's discussion Lower back pain (please help!)
"Jennifer, I remember seeing suggestions on the ergonomics of standing desks when I was setting my treadmill up that said the monitor should be somewhat *below* eye level to lessen stress on the back and neck. Given that you experience the same pain…"

"I've both used a CAD package and helped to write it while working on my TreadDesk (which is gone now - my LifeSpan TR1200 arrived today.) As long as I'm not going very fast (1.1 - 1.2 mph) it doesn't affect my mouse use at all. What…"

"Well, I got another year out of it but that's going to be all. I've just ordered the LifeSpan 1200-dt3 to replace my tread as it get progressively noisier. In part this was made possible by the decision to switch around my office space so…"

"Size is also an issue for me but if I decide that's the way to go I'll find someplace to set up.  One of the advantages of telecommuting from a fairly large house."

Two weeks on the Tread

So far things are going very well. The Tread arrived late on St. Patrick's day - which being a Wednesday this year was also one of my days off - so I didn't actually get to using it until the 18th. That first week I only got 9 miles in but that was enough to be certain that I could easily work while walking.

The next week only saw me get 24 miles between only working 32 hours and having to attend to some atypical work requests that kept me away from my desk for several… Continue

Hi!

The treadmill desk is exactly what you're looking for. Give it a shot and let us know how it goes!

They advertise it as being like a whisper - whatever that means, but I find it perfectly acceptable and would call it "white noise". I got used to it by the end of the first day and no one has ever said they could hear it when I am on the phone, which was my biggest concern. I would say it is more on the quiet side when compared to other treadmills I have been on, and actually I think my feet make more noise than the treadmill itself.
