My Treaddesk Tread started making loud buzzing noises last September just a month outside of the 2-year warranty expired.
I contacted Treadesk who thought it was probably the capacitor on the controller board, I could replace the board for $100 including shipping. I opted to replace the capacitor myself, as that could be sourced for $15.
Replacing the cap didn't seem to make much difference. Initially the noise went away, but then the entire tread would cut out…Continue

I live in NYC and would like to try out a treadmill desk. Snce there are no trial outlets in nyc, wondering if I there were any nyc tread desk users i could pay to come over and try it. don't want to make such an investment without ever having typed keys used a mouse while walking... I am a middle aged artist and arts educator, and would happily provide any references. Maggie
I first read of the treadmill desk in 2008 and purchased one in 2009. At the time there were only 2 manufacturers - TreadDesk and the Walkstation by Steelcase. After a close comparison, I decided to go with the TreadDesk, mainly due to the price. We have since purchased 4 more for our offices and I then had to have one at my home as well. To say that they have improved the health of those that use them would be quite the understatement. Not only has everyone that uses them lost weight, they…Continue

2 years now. 1,820 miles in my office. The tread is still good. I put a calendar reminder once per month to vacuum around and under the hood. I lubricate the tread belt from time to time.
My body weight has been very stable (some fluctuation). My vacation was spent hiking in England 60-70 miles…Continue

I'm new to the forum (first post), and just started last week on a Confidence Power Plus treadmill. I've searched the forums for this question, but wanted to double-check since some of the answers left me wondering.
I'm a little concerned about the motor's performance.
1) The difference in speed from how fast the band moves before/after I step on it is about a 50% drop. I've never used a treadmill before, is that normal? (I weigh about 175lbs).
Hello all. I just joined because I as so sick of sitting!
Did any of you convert an old used treadmill for your desk? I've found a bunch of cheap treadmills on Craig's List but I am concerned that they may not run slow enough to be used as a desk. Most increase speed at only .5 mile per hour increments. Since I've never worked on one, would this work as a desk? What speed/s do you typically work at? thanks for tips and suggestions. with a little guidance I will be one of you all soon!…Continue
I've been using the Treadmill desk now for about a week. I'm up to about 50-60 minutes per day, the remainder sitting (or uncomfortably) standing.
As for speed, usually quite slow - around 0.6-1mph/1-1.6kph.Continue

This is a picture of the desk (raised to standing position) before we added the treadmill earlier this week.
And below is the picture of the desk with the treadmill & bamboo chair mat added.
The Swedish powered desk is beautiful and spacious - and honestly the desk is where…Continue

What is it with carpenters and other construction guys?? You give them a simple task like, "Cut down this tabletop", and they disappear for weeks. Sigh.
Well, I have been making do with my shelf resting on the handrails. I've raised the level of the keyboard and mousing surface with books, and that is good for posture and shoulders. And just yesterday I affixed the large monitor to a swingarm (off of Amazon for $30 or so).
This brings the monitor to head level and also closer…

If you're walking on your treadmill minding your own business and suddenly the power goes out, you can almost get whiplash! Yikes!
Last week I walked a total of about 32 miles in six days, so that is averaging more than 5mi a day. I have started increasing the incline a bit. Not so much that I notice it, but the calorie counter eats more calories that way. I have no idea if the calories counter is accurate, but it doesn't really matter, since I'm only really keeping an eye on mileage and that just for self-encouragement.
I still haven't got the table top cut. It is a formica-ed piece of very heavy particle board,…Continue

I've worked my first 6 days using the treadmill. An hour at a time, a few times a day, as I feel inclined. I'm not trying to walk virtually to anywhere, nor max out calories burned or rack up pulse rates. But it is gratifying to be able to say, "I walked 4 miles today".
Still haven't got the keyboard shelf on its own supports, but I'm making do with the slightly vibrating wire shelf. I do wish I were better at touch typing, but then, in my job, I also have to switch back and forth…Continue

No pictures yet, because I haven't got my set-up the way I like it yet, just making do for the timebeing.
At present, I have a couple of pieces of foam pipe insulation on the side handles, and then a wire shelf sitting on those. My laptop sits on that, cushioned by a fleece scarf which I fold over the edge of the laptop. This allows my wrists to slide a bit as I walk, but my fingers remain stable on the keys. There is vibration/movement from the treadmill, but it is workable.…Continue
