My husband and I learned Friday that we had lost the baby we were so excited about bringing into the world. It has been a really trying weekend/week, but we can definitely feel the love, support, and prayers of our many friends and family members; and that has been a huge blessing in the midst of it. So, while taking time to grieve together and getting back into the swing of things at work after a few days away, my goals on the treadmill have been recalibrated and we are back at square one. Walk…

So, got my tread-desk gussied up, temporarily, of course, with duck tape (yes, Oregon ducks, so duck tape, not duct!) and its' working well. Thus far, my cat-who-must-sit-on-lap hasn't figured it out, though she was checking out the top of my computer today! (There is only 1" on the "top", being an iMac, not wide enough for her.)
Been adjusting shoes I wear, too, to save the knees, too. Thus far, the MBTS are pretty good for cushioning, since the treadmill isn't very soft at all. Thus far the m…

I spent quite a bit of time away from my desk yesterday, but still made 6.32 miles at 1mph.
Today was meeting day, so I'm only at 1.9 now and likely to make 4 or 5 miles by the end of day. It's getting more comfortable every day though. I'm glad I slowed down to enjoy it instead of pushing.
I'm not doing this entirely for weightloss, but it will be interesting to track along with the miles, so I'll weigh myself Saturday morning and see where I am.

I had an easy time walking yesterday, but recovery last night was a little rough. I felt great again this morning, but decided to back off to 1.0mph and a goal of 8 miles for the day. So far, that's going great with about 2.5 miles and 2.5 hours to go in my day.

I made 4.66 miles Friday starting at .5 and working up to 1.0 mph. Started today at 1.0 and then 1.5 now at 2.0 and typing comfortably. 6.2 miles so far. I'm going to go for 2.0 mph for eight hours tomorrow. That's 16 miles and from what I read 2000 calories? That can't be right. This is way too easy to burn that many calories, but then I haven't done the 16 miles yet. I may not think it's so easy tomorrow.
Looks like I'll make eight miles in eight hours today (with the usual interruptions for…

At the very end of September, I had to temporarily give up my treadmill desk due to a staff change here in the office. I was needed at the front desk, and there was no room for a treadmill desk setup there! I was pretty bummed, I had just started seeing good weight loss results, and had been seeing positive changes in my focus and energy from the very beginning!
With an impending new hire, though, I am excited that after a week of training her, I'll be back at my old desk, walking away! However…

I just got the email from TreadDesk and my tread is due to arrive Friday. I'm really looking forward to trying it out. I've had about a dozen people stop by my workspace to check out my standing desk and some of them are considering a treadmill if it works out for me.

I absolutelt thrill with wordclay! it has been the best experience that I have ever seen with publishing my new book. I have also been trying to lose weight as well. Especially for someone like myself where I need to have control of every aspect of my life when it comes to writing my books and losing the weight it is so hard too do both because I am up half the night writing and in the morining I am up on my ab lounge doing setups. Than I walk on my tread mil for about 30 minutes than I ride my…

I've been on weightwatchers while I'm doing this weight loss mission.
It's been a while since I calculated my daily points target.
Well today I recalculated since I've lost weight and I figured out something. I've been shorting myself 4 points every day since I started walking. So when I thought I went over my daily points target in the past, I really hadn't. So now instead of a decrease in points due to my weight loss, I actually have increased my daily point count.
Oh, I'm at 249 now.

My job is sedentary these days. I am on the verge of an Angioplasty and I prefer to avoid it. International health insurance is not in my budget but I am required to purchase it due to elevated blood pressure. I am hoping to learn how to include exercise a part of my daily life so that I will become a bit…

This is my first update here at Office Walkers (since the day I joined, shortly after posting my
review on our company blog.
I don't have an official total for mileage, But in the first few weeks I walked 5-6 miles a day, and then I got up to around 7.5 miles. These last two days w/my increase to 1.7 mph it is more like 8-9 miles daily.
I am feeling so much better than I was before. No more afternoon sleepiness where I wonder…

G'day,
Its been almost 5 months of treadmill desk trekking for me and I can say that I have never walked so much in my life :P
I was inspired to get off my butt not because I am over weight but because sitting down for 8-12hrs a day just didn't feel right at the end of the day, even when the gym/running was involved.
I have always had really annoying soreness in my knees from in-activeness and my legs always seemed to go numb or get pins and needles.
I self diagnosed my knee problem to be a case…

I weighed in at the VA at 269 which is the biggest I have ever been.
Been keeping up on Weight Watchers for at least a month in a half. I've been walking for about 3 weeks. I weighed myself this morning and I was 251.

I've lost a few pounds and I'm averaging about 240 minutes a day and trying to increase from that.
Finding out that a sweat a lot, so more showers are happening if I have a lunch meeting or afterwork event.
On my weight watchers, I'm using the "walking leisure" activity point count So far I've accumilated about 39 extra points. I'm trying not to use those extra points in eating.
I'm down to 252 from 269. It's a combination of eating healthier and less and the walking. I need to add some weigh…
