Working @ 100 Calories Per Hour
The hardest part was simply getting it out of the carton. Whew! It looks like a quality machine (based on what experience.knowledge do I say this -- almost none, so pay it no mind...) It is quiet. I haven't quite figured out how the programs work, but I won't be using those much anyway, I don't think.
I played around with speeds and incline. For a nice brisk walk, 3mph was good, but of course I wouldn't be able to do computer work at that speed. I was surprised to find that…Continue

Treadmill has been playing up these past few weeks. Belt not staying at constant speed , motor smelling and loosing wireless connection every time I started up. I thought the stories of prolonged walking pace had finished it off. Doing a bit of research I noticed I should have been using the container of silicon grease on the belt every few months. I've been walking now for 18 Months with no maintenance. So I greased belt up and still no improvement.
Before I start looking at ebay I…Continue

These are sit-stand desks and the widest could be used with a tread or a chair.
Spendy but look at the gorgeous cedar (with bark line front and/or back) or mesquite tops...

It's hard for me to believe that I have completely changed my life by walking at work, but it has truly made that much of a difference for me after only one year.
I purchased both, the treadmill and adjustable height desk from Treaddesk about one year ago and have not stopped walking since. I average 1.5 mph throughout the day, but I change my speed all day long - anywhere from 1.2-1.8. I am approaching 1400 miles IN ONE YEAR.
I have lost a total of 34 lbs and am close to my…Continue
Day 1: 1 hour @ 1.3 mph
After a few glitches getting my treadmill desk set up, I finally started walking at my treadmill desk today! I walked for an hour at 1.3-1.4 mph. I had no difficulty typing on my laptop because I rest the heel of my hand on the keyboard so my fingers are stable.
I was a bit worried about knee pain and lower back pain, which I suffer from, but they were fine until the last 5 minutes. That was my signal to stop. Prior to today, I have gotten…Continue
Wow. I'm surprised how fast the time flew working while I walked. Made a number of sales call and made the necessary notes during and after each call. Reviewed daily reports sent in from the crews in the field. Handled a number of issues crews had. Always been a fan of the Jawbone ear piece, I think it is essential for the walking desk.
Now no one could say I'm in good shape right now, but I must say I'm pretty proud of myself. I had planned today to go 30 minutes on the…Continue

Only took about 45 minutes to assemble. 6 screws & 4 bolts. Everything was included, box had minor shipping damage but no damage internally. I've tried the 0.5 mph to surf/type. That was very easy. So far I've moved on 2 mph and reading/ surfing is not a problem. When typing, I made a few more errors but I've always been fast on the backspace. Not out of breath and I've gone for 30 inaugural minutes. I am very pleased.
My LifeSpan TR1200 DT-5 has finally been delivered. Ordered thru Amazon on 12/21/12 but had to start my 2013 New Years Resolution late on the 1/3/13. Well maybe 1313 will be my lucky day. Anyhoo, I have the space cleared in my home office, so let the unboxing begin. More later.

I wrote this guide to workwalking on my blog a while back-- Here are my top ten tips!
And by the way, on there I say that you shouldn't go more than 2 mph because that is what I have heard for safety, but I have found I can go much faster, usually 4…Continue

After 6 months of using a standup desk, and then 12 months of using an older Smooth treadmill with a knocked together 2x4 & OSB desk I decided it was time to make a transition to a better setup.
One of the things that prompted me to look at the GeekDesk, was that for the entire time since I switched to a standup desk I had no way of sitting down at all during the day. Working from home meant that I would often be walking and standing for 10+ hours a day. In the last few monts I…Continue
So now, almost 8 months on the treadmill at work. I gained 4 lb! I know it is because I get hungry from all walking. I now started to keep track of my food and snack intake by using "myfitnesspal". After only 2 weeks I have lost almost 3 lb.
I am not over-weight, but I don't mind loosing the belly fat. I don't need that fat for anything.
I always thought it would be so hard to keep track of calories, but with smartphone apps it really isn't. I track both exercise and…Continue
IMO, working and walking at the same time, got to be the ultimate exercise for the brain.
In other words, the more trouble people have walking, the more trouble they have thinking.
The participants walked normally on the electronic walkway, and again while performing a cognitive task: counting backward by two’s from 50, or naming animals.
One 72-year-old woman’s first walking test betrayed no…Continue

Anyone have an opinion?
I've just started using my treadmill desk! I'm so excited that I also started a diary where I keep track of the experience. Like the nerd that I am, I'm also keeping track of my blood pressure, weight, BMI, heart beats per minute, etc... and graphing it all as I go! Hopefully it'll turn into an interesting graph over time!

I have been working at my treadmill desk by Treaddesk since the begining of the year and wanted to pass along my thoughts.
Walking while working was much easier to get used to than I thought it would be. By the end of my first day, I was very comfortable and at times forgot that I was even walking. I think I overdid it though early on, by walking 4-5 miles right out of the gate - my legs were a bit sore, but after two weeks that all went away and I was able to walk 4-5 miles without…Continue
