i just can't understand why the tread manufacturers don't see this as the biggest markt opportunity since the 1930s. i mean honestly, the healthcare companies might force walking offices in a few years... someone has to feed the demand...

i think the treadmill desk is a great concept for ya average computer user, even if for a few hours a day.

Tread manufacturers are not yet embracing office walking because it is still a niche.  Just look at Treaddesk.  They build their treads in lots and only order those lots every few months.  That tells me that they either don't have a consistent retail market to rely on or they are not willing to take risks with their product.

It also doesn't help that the cost of entry can be pretty high.  I built my treadmill desk for a couple hundred bucks but most folks would be looking to buy and the prices go from high to just insane.

There there is public perception, which is non existent.  People look at pictures of my treadmill desk and think I actually invented the concept.  Some think it is an incredible idea and want more details on how to do it.  Other just point and laugh (usually with their fat arses planted in a chair).  It will take more work from people like bdrhoa to spread the word and build interest.

Meanwhile, I just hit 196lbs and that is without doing a single thing about my diet (which could be better).
