I Can't Stand Still

I've found myself sometimes stepping onto the my treadmill and starting to work without turning it on. Just standing there is a lot harder on me that walking. Then I end up doing less. I just need to make sure I hit the on button right away.

AMA president showcases Mayo-conceived Walkstation

"The Walkstation treadmill desk conceived by Dr. James Levine of Mayo Clinic was front and center Monday at the American Medical Association's Presidents' Forum in Washington, D.C. Dr. Ronald Davis, president of the AMA, used a Walkstation as he spoke to the gathered presidents, presidents-elect and executive directors of state, county and national medical societies. 1st Day of Office Walking

I got my desk together last night. I'll post a pic once I get new batteries for my camera. Today was my 1st full day on treadmill desk. 8.88 miles, 917 cal. Feeling good, but my legs are sore.

Mission 1 Accomplished

I now have a treadmill in my room waiting for a desk to be built around it.

Hello Brad,
I've been aware of the treadmill trend for a few months now, but not by reading anything about in France! But I haven't got it set up yet, need to reorganise my desk space first, get my monitors up higher, install shelf to treadmill, etc.
So far everyone I've talked to about it here has been pretty shocked, swiftly followed by highly amused. I'll keep you posted.

Hi Brad; thanks for your message. The treadmill I use, a ProForm Crosswalk LS, works very well as a treadmill desk but is definitely low end as a treadmill, if that makes sense. One of the issues is that it is pretty loud, and my office has a hardwood floor. So at Home Depot I bought a thick rubber mat that is actually called an "Anti-Fatigue Mat," which you sometimes see in restaurant kitchens. It wasn't super cheap, I think $20 for three feet by three feet, but it's so thick that the noise from the treadmill is reduced by 70% or more, I highly recommend it if your treadmill is noisy.
